Acknowledgement of Country

I acknowledge the Boonwurrung and Wurundjerri People of the Kulin Nation as the First peoples of this land and for whom sovereignty was never ceded. I recognise that they are the caretakers of the earth, water, and skies upon which work, live, and teach. I respect and honor the first people's connection to storytelling through dance, art, and voice, and commit to sharing these stories and truth-telling within my classroom.

Learning is a continuous journey that makes for exciting change...

Chelsea Adams, Teacher in Training, Musical Theatre Bachelor Graduate & Artist based in Melbourne.

Chelsea’s vibrant energy and passions lie in the connections arts education can forge and the kind of experiential learning it offers.

A safe haven in her high school years an external provider of the VCE Dance program allowed for the completion of VCE dance with the subject being her best scoring and by far most enjoyable. With contemporary and Shakespearean acting training, classical and contemporary vocal training, and 10 + years of dance training Chelsea hopes to pass on the experiential knowledge she has gained.

Moving deeply into the performing world after high school Chelsea began Auditions for the various performing arts bachelor programs while training in Dance, Singing, and Acting when in Melbourne and working in hospitality. After three years and many auditions, Chelsea accepted an offer to Federation University Academy of Arts Musical Theatre bachelor; one of 30 students from Australia Wide.

Moving from Melbourne to commence training in Ballarat Chelsea finally graduated in 2019, moving towards intimate dance projects connected to mental health and lived experience.

Currently, Chelsea’s training to be a teacher has led her to enjoy the mentoring space that exists within arts classrooms.

As students explore and generate a movement language and their voices, she hopes to be able to guide them in their artistic endeavors.

Arts Education

Connection to learning in the arts affords students to express opinion, emotion and larger ideas; generates cross-curricular learning connected to basic maths skills of counting, shapes and communicative literacies. Arts Education generates people who are resilient, empathetic, and optimistic about the world we live in.
